Here’s my handy guide to show you how to measure your gardening under 30 seconds. It’s quite simple how to work out and estimate the size of your garden. It doesn’t even involve a tape measure. Most gardens tend to have fence panels around the perimeter, and nearly all fence panels are two meters wide. So simply count the number of fence panels you have down the length of your garden and multiply that by two, and that will give you a distance in meters. For example, if your garden is six fence panels long, four fence panels wide, and you can be certain your garden is around 12 meters long and eight meters wide.
If you don’t have fences in your garden and you want to get a rough idea how big the garden is, one large pace from a standard height person will be around about a meter. So pace around the garden if you don’t have fence panels. Marquees tend to come in three-meter widths and three-meter lengths intervals. So some gardens are better suited for three, six, nine and twelve-meter wide widths and they could be made as long as you wish, again, in three-meter lengths.
If you want to give any measurements to any Marquee Hire Company, most companies work in meters. So stick to meters rather than feet or inches when given your dimensions out.
